Use your MIDI controller as your computer keyboard
Hi guys,
I am trying to make a patch that receives MIDI input from a MIDI keyboard and translates it into keystrokes.
So for example I can play the midi controller and it will type a text in a text editor or message box in max or whatever (as long as you can see it)
I tried to use the itoa object (notein to itoa with some mapping you prefer) but then I dont know how to make those single messages into a text (also for example delete text if the delete/backspace button is pressed).
Thanks in advance, Casper
Hi there,
take a look at aka.keyboard (http://www.iamas.ac.jp/~aka/max/)...
greetings!
Peter
Thanks a lot! that was exactly what i needed!
now I only need to map the right piano keys to the right keyboard keys and i am done! :)
How do you get the aka.objects running?
I removed mine (along with other externals) a while ago, now tried again but get only long error messages for every object I load. My Externals are in a folder and it is in the search path. The message tells about missing image, no structure in wrapper etc.
