Using Ableton Loaded Video as M4L Device Input

I found a post asking about the same thing here (https://cycling74.com/forums/video-input-object-in-max4live
) that was back in 2013, does anyone know if this is possible? The reason would be for writing music/sound to video and pulling information from the video (i.e. average brightness) to affect different. Of course, this could be done by loading a video, but what about splicing lots of video content together? It would be much easier if channel video could be routed into a device.
