Using Push3 pads to trigger buttons in a simple Max for Live device
Hello,
I recently downloaded a useful M4L device called Beat Jump.
It allows Live to jump forward/backwards a certain number of beats (from 1/4 to 8). The computer GUI is simple: 12 buttons you can trigger with a mouse click.
I'd love to trigger those buttons via the Push3 pads, with two rows (forward/backwards). I'd also like to remove the current info displayed on the Push3 screen (Arm/Trigger dropdown menu, with "live.text" label above each). Maybe I could use a knob to set a length and a Push3 button (or two!) to jump. But it's of less importance.
How should I proceed, please? I'm a total newbie with Max.
Thanks for helping,
creal.
Hi. I would like to try and help but currently trying to get my head around it and started the beginnings of a 4 *16 sequencer on Push’s pads. There is a course on Music Hackspace by Mark Towers that shows you how to gain control of the Push for your own purposes. I think it’s called Launchpad Hacking with the Live API but totally relevant for Push.
