Using the LED object to measure clipping?
Hello, I'm trying to use a single LED object as a clipping indicator (for a filter envelope rather than actual volume/gain clipping) and was wondering how I might go about doing this? I would need to be able to trim when it triggers behind the scenes, but it isn't necessary on the actual interface... if that makes any difference.
I'm new to M4L so I don't even know where to start, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Is there a better place to ask noob questions like this or is this a tricky problem to sort out? Like I say, new to M4L so I don't want to fill up the forum with silly, basic questions :)
Maybe observing output_meter_level?
Thanks for the help alersito. Managed to figure it out another way, took another live.gain slider off the main plugin~ and used a snapshot object with a *~ for trimming the LED trigger point. Works a treat but I don't really understand why! Stabbing away in the dark at the moment but sure I'll get there in the end.
