Viddl PCM audio
On a scale from "right around the corner" to "out past the horizon line" I'd like to know if PCM audio support is coming to Viddl?
I've had good luck using PJPEG and PCM audio for A/V samples. I've built a library over the last 3 or 4 years of files with this format. Re-encoding those files would be a sizeable effort, and would probably lose some quality. I don't like to mix and match codecs and formats, since this formula has been stable and responsive. At the same time, I'd love to eliminate Quicktime from regular use, and jit.movie~ seems preferable in general for what I'm doing. I suspect it would also eliminate a lot of complaints/confusion from people testing random video samples with jit.movie~. It would be helpful to have some sort of timeframe on this so I can decide what decisions to make.
