Im trying to get Vienna Ensemble Pro (5.3) working with Max (6.1.7) on Mac OSX 10.9.3

my goals are really distribute the VST load across cores in a single machine, and also to a dedicated VST server machine.

Ive got it working very nicely with others hosts,and Ive stumbled across a couple of issues with Max:

a) main Vienna Ensemble Pro VST (server connection) - VST works, but AU doesn't

b) Vienna Ensemble Pro Event Input (VST and AU) doesnt work, I just get no midi through.

Ive filled an issue with Cycling and also working through it with the VEP developers but wondered if others have had any issues.

Also... although EventInput doesnt work, there are no issues in the Max log, and if I run Max from the console (terminal) I don't see any errors, is there any way to get anymore debug info from Max?

VST works fine, AU does not receive midi or pass audio

furthermore, Vienna Instruments (2.4.13670) AU only works at 44.1 in Max

VST version works fine at every sample rate

Unfortunately, audio units is required for this project... Any ideas?
