wave~ object and unix executable file
Hi, I'm trying to run a patch made by someone who I'm unable to get into touch with.
There's a wave~ object with "foo" as the argument, and there's a "foo" unix executable file that goes along with the patch. I've seen the patch run before and doubleclicking the "wave~ foo" object pops up a nice little envelope. In my case, doubleclicking on the wave~ foo object gives me an empty gray box. My file preferences are set to read from where the file is located. How do I get this thing to read properly?
Thanks!
Any help, anybody? I still haven't figured it out. Clearly this unix executable file is supposed to be read by the wave~ object in max as an envelope, but the object is just coming up as a gray box. What do I do?
Thanks again!
Your foo unix file is most probably not an unix file, but a sound file. Well it should be a sound file if it's an argument of wave~.
Try to add an extension to the filename, like foo.wav or foo.aif, and see if you can open the file.
