waveform~ drawing question

I suspect the answer may be no, but just in case... Is there a way to have [waveform~] draw the outline of the wave as a line instead of as a filled-in area?

oh the things i wish that waveform~ could do. i feel your pain.

you could probably do this with lcd though. recently i used lcd to draw very good normal waveforms with rms waveforms displayed on top, like the fancy editors. but an outline seems harder to me.

just use Pd? ha!

combination of [LCD] and an envelope follower?

I'm no jitter expert but maybe you could modify this patch that was posted on the forum a while back.

Thanks gang! Yeah, it's the Pd array I am trying to emulate. Using LCD, I can make it work as long as I can specify the size of the LCD object and scale the drawing to it. That works really well for things like the 512 sample waveforms used in [cycle~]. See my patch below for that. Luke, thanks for that link! I, too, am no jitter expert, but that's pretty cool! I'm going to dig around in that one for awhile.

yep, it would be nice for waveform~ to have a separate color for the outline, like sonogram~ does. though I suspect drawing might be a lot slower?
