I'm a complete newbie when it comes to embedding Max/MSP into flash (although I've dealt with each separately).

for upcoming exhibition issues I'd like to embed an eye recognition patch into my website (initially posted by jean-marc pelletier 2 years ago!

in my modification black bars appear in front of the eyes (familiar from reports on criminals)..

before I throw myself into FLOSC and/or flashserver, I'd just like to know, if this is possible at all:

someone hits my website. assume he has a webcam - the webcam starts itself automatically (cf. loadbang on [jit.qt.grab]). and there we go: the visitor sees himself with black bars in front of his eyes..

at this point I'd like to skip discussions about whether autostarts on webcams turn out to be far more annoying than useful.. :) is this something that is doable with FLOSC/flashserver?

ok, after having studied flashserver for a while I've come to the conclusion that this is not possible. the furthest I could get would probably be to buy a chatroulette clone script & try modifying in flash from there :]

if anyone else has any idea on how to smuggle my black bars in front of the visitors eyes (for I know flash won't do alone), I'll give him 3 summersaults live on webcam..
