What is the point of num and flonum's right inlet?

It's there as a simple way of traversing focus. Key would need to know which number box is selected, so you can create a simple focus cycle.

It's less relevant now, perhaps, given that the inspectors are not Max patches, but when they were, it made them easier to traverse.
