where are the max/AU presets on mac OS Ventura ?

HI
I use 2 macs with the latest MAX. And I often use some plug-ins. OK

on the OS Monterey when I use an AU plug-in inside a vst object, sending a message such as "write my_plugin" writes the preset in library/audio/presets - just as the help file says. Ok, it tok me some time to find how to access THIS library, but it works

on the OS Ventura the same message works BUT there is NO preset folder in Library/audio. However the preset is some where since a new vst object can see the preset.

I would like to exchange some of those presets between the 2 macs - where to find those presets on OS ventura ????

many thanks
kasper

Spotlight search is one of the first things that I remove from my Mac systems, but I you don't do so, why not use it ?

ha ha !! simply because those are hidden files !!! even the library folder (in side your "home") is hidden. Took me some time to find this one, and finally on Monterey I found it, and the presets for AU inside. However on Ventura, on the same place they are not present. However MAX finds the written Au preset on Ventura, so it is "somewhere" just I can not find where. The MAX doc says it should be in "library/presets"....

Or, put differently : I have presets for AU plugins which I saved on another MAC. Where Should I put them on a mac running os Ventura so that this preset is seen by a max patch containing the very same plug-in. Putting the preset in the same folder the max patch is in does not work, and the path indicated in the help file does not seem to work...

I don' use Ventura, so can't say, but I guess it is not differnt than on other systems.
main path is :
~/Library/Audio/Presets/ (~/ = user folder)
then inside a folder per plugin developer / plugins
Hidden user Library is another "great" invention of apple guys,
but you can make it permanently visible using scripting,
or then go to ... which would lead you there.

hi source audio (of the pedals of the same name ?) -
many thanks and indeed this is what I did expect. trouble is in
~/Library/Audio/ there is NO Presets folder, on Ventura at least. In Monterey yes, And I was expecting to find the same in Ventura, but no
I tried on Ventura to create a preset for another AU (sending in max a message "write my-preset" as the doc says), and sure it was written, since I can use it in another patch. But written "somewhere", and I don't know where. So I do not know where to put my other presets imported from Monterey...

Wild guess, but is it perhaps that you haven't saved any new presets from the plugin on the Ventura machine, and the folder isn't actually created until you do that? (In the same way that a new install of Max on a new machine doesn't create certain folders until you launch it at least once, or something???)
Alternatively have you tried creating an appropriately named folder in the Finder location you expect it to be and see if the plugin then finds it?

it is simpy a joke not to be able to find a file just written
using any kind of search engine.
if not that miserable spotlight, then open terminal, type:
find ~/* -name *.aupreset
hit enter, it returns any file ending with .aupreset in entire user folder
or search main library:
sudo find /Library -name *.aupreset
enter password and hit enter to see if any presets are in
defult location /Library/Audio/Presets ....
or then in all mounted disks and partitions:
sudo find / -name *.aupreset
-------
I hope you are not having all your files in icloud, or any other
unfortunate remote location.
