Which way forward?
Hi there,
I've recently been pointed to MaxSP and Jitter in a tutorial through a tutor, and well the program is... a little daunting lol
What I'm looking to do is set some sort of input, perhaps a microphone to a room and then have that audio affect the image. One example I can think of is I have a 3d model of a charcter that ive made, and to have him dance to the sound. I imagine it would be very hard to actually move his limbs but im sure it can be faked somewhat.
Perhaps the patch already exisst to do this? IF so then great where is it lol.. however I'd still also like to understand whats actually happening and have the knowledge to make it my own
I'm Currently workign my way through the tutorials for jitter and the documnetation for MaxSP but its very daunting and theres lots of new concepts, ad well just lots to take in.
I'd Really appreciate:
Links to tutorials that will get me started in this direction
Any patches that do soemthign similar
and any advice or direction youd be kind enough to provide.
Thanks in advace
Richard
You can make a short film, with a dancer of some sort or another animations.
Using some sound object you could make a threshold or something (not
my area of interest in jitter :)) which shift the looppoints of the
movie.
When you make noise the movie runs forward else it just shaking (short
loop) or stands still. This way you can very easy "control" your movie
Or a least makes it suggestible that sound controls the figure.
Just brainstorming on an empty stomach
Using this steps are provided which you can help copy paste the whole
thing from example patches. Just look for the different functions
individual models need.
