Will someone build me a few simple patches?

Hey guys,

Would anyone be interested in building a few (3) very simple patches for me? I'm pretty new to Max and just don't have the time to work on these at the moment. If someone would be able to build these (would probably take an experienced user 15 minutes), it would allow me to study from them in order to learn Max better.

The patches are to do things like generating midi notes from a random function, creating a random cycle generator, and (relating to jitter) creating a matrix that is controlled by a MIDI generator.

If anyone is interested (please?), send me an email (on my profile) and I'll let you know the guidelines.

Thanks so much.

EDIT: I could pay $10 through PayPal, if anyone is interested. I would need this done by Tuesday evening.

wasnt there a sticky thread or something
where it said "watch out your teacher
might be on the forum too" ?

Hehe technically its not for a class. I would be using the patches to eventually aid in a project later on... I just need someone to make these patches so that I can learn from them and add onto them, etc.

If anyone can help me with this I'd be extremely appreciative.

Oh, and the $10 can't hurt, can it?

*Ten bucks?* You must not think much of the people you're trying to hire....

Well I was actually asking for a favor, and using the $10 bucks as a "thanks for your time" thing. I deeply respect each and every one of you who are proficient in MaxMSP and I would like to one day be half as good as some of you on the forums are. As far as I know, these patches are extremely simple and should be easy for anyone who has taken at least a beginner's course in MaxMSP. I would troubleshoot my way around these patches, but I simply don't have the time right now and am swamped with other important work. I thought that using the forums for help would be a good option for me. If you would like more money for these patches then I'd suggest you make an offer. I came to the forums looking for help, but not necessarily to "hire" anyone. It wasn't my intention to make it seem otherwise.

You would have learned it already now, if you'd simply do the tutorials. There is still enough time to learn what you need completely by yourself 'till tomorrow. Way better and faster than "studying" someone else's patch. Its simple enough...

look into the help files of [random], [makenote], [noteout], [metro]. There is also a "see also" section in each help file, browsing through help files is the best way of studying patches...

By tomorrow, I promise, you'll have what you want with the advantage that you learned the most important skill for maxin':

Play around, get your own creativity flowing, have fun with it...

If you come across concrete brick walls, get back here...

I'll do it for $100000.

.. or you could learn how yourself ;) What you're intending to do isn't really that hard at all, and as someone said you could have your patches up and running by tomorrow if you looked at the tutorials for a little while.

Honestly, not to beat a dead horse or anything, but even if someone made these patches for you, you would probably still have questions about them once you start experimenting with them. The great thing about the tutorials is that they explain everything that is happening, so you'll know what you're doing when you mess around with them. The help files are also good, but if you're just starting out then start with the tutorials.

Have you not looked through the "examples" folder that comes with MaxMSP? There are definitely examples of random note generation in there (a patch called "scaler" comes to mind). There are plenty of patches to study already and they're included free with the application.
