windows version for jit.qt.movie
Hi there i posted this in the MAXMSP thread by accident the first time. Maybe a moderator can delete that one? Anyways on to my problem
i was working on a mac at school and now have to work on my pc at home. My patch uses multiple jit.qt.movie objects into videoplanes. However it doesn't seem to be showing the videos on the videoplanes although i do hear the sound. Im guessing this is because qt is for mac and not windows . I have the latest quicktime updates and all so I was wondering which object is the windows version for jit.qt.movie
just shortly: jit.qt.movie is cross platform. can you maybe post the patch?
Hi,
qt is for Windows and Mac, the jit.qt.movie object works fine on Windows, provided you have all the updates as you mentioned. Try patching to the jit.pwindow object and see if your video works. Check the help file for additional information. This object can be included in any patch, however there is a similar object (jit.window) which opens a separate window for videos.
Hope this helps,

Hi, it sounds like I'm trying to do a similar thing at the moment.Getting jit.qt.movie etc working was fine, however I did need to fully install Quicktime and it's components before installing Jitter.
What I'm looking for is a jit.qt.videoout that works for PC! Trying to direct out various jit.qt.movie 's to different ports on a GPU is seeming impossible on PC
Hi o.trickett, jit.qt.videoout is specifically for outputting to compressed firewire DV components. This is not the object to use for display via the GPU. If you want to output to different displays, the object to use is jit.window. The jit.window can be positioned/scaled so that it is located in any screen recognized by the system. Usually a good idea to arrange your displays the way you want them first by way of the OS prefs.
