WinJitter on AMD
Hi everyone,
Have there been reports of Jitter not working well with AMD Opteron?
I haven't found any. I can get more details later, but I'm curious if
anything has been reported at all. Basically, after running a patch
for some random amount of time, a fairly intense patch would crap out.
Does onyone run Jitter on an AMD system?
thanks,
wes
I haven't encountered any AMD specific issues on my dual Opteron
machine which I've been developing on for a year and a half. Nor do I
know of anything which should be AMD relevant unless an object uses
Intel processor specific instructions (which we don't in the standard
distro).
If it's not just memory corruption (which by luck doesn't expose
itself on another machine), then the first things I'd look at is
scheduler backlog, and the windows screen saver or login screen
turning on (known issue which can lead to crashes).

funning jitter on an AMD 64x2 3800+ (2.0ghz dual core). works fine.
sometimes get weird non-reproducible crashes while editing patches, but
nothing to mysterious while using a patch.
