writing txt file while acquiring data

Hello everyone,

I am using Max to get back data from sensors, and I would like to record these datas "in live" on a txt file, while using the sensors (the aim would be to use these datas with matlab after the record). But I found nothing to do that, just something to read the txt (coll I think), but not to write it.

Is there a solution?

Thanks!

maybe the [text] object is useful.

That is perfect!...Except that I can only open it in Max, how can I read it with, let us say, wordpad or something like that?

Max creates a normal textfile. So you just can open it in any texteditor. If you don't use the .txt ending (i assume you work on a windows machine, as you mentioned wordpad) you have to choose "Open with..." and then select the programm form the context menu (right-click on file)
-j.

Ok thanks, I just forgot to specify the extention when creating the file.

Thank you very much!
