It is interesting, whether it is possible to write a patch in max-msp for tracking moving two fingers on touchpad? I.e. x-y the controller? Thanx!

ok you just need this vst:
http://www.livelab.dk/touchpad2midi.php
and maybe you'll need this vsthost to setup your midi config (i do, with
midiyoke):
http://www.hermannseib.com/english/savihost.htm
and by magic your touchpad is now a midi CTL !!

How about the mousestate object? I used that one to control speed and volume of the movie playback lately.

but with the Touchpad2Midi stuff, you don't have to deal with ' where is the
mouse at the moment i need to use this xy values ', as it depends only of
your touchpad...
also, i prefer to desactivate the touchpad for the cursor and still use it
at xy ctl ...

on the other hand, i have to load this very small *.exe for the midi device
to be assigned correctly. ;)

Hey, Could you give a few more details on how to get Max to recognize this plug-in as a MIDI controller? I have touchpad2midi running in savihost and I followed the set up directions on touchpad2midi's website for stand-alone set up. What do I need to do to get midi input into a patch? I'm looking at the midiin and notein objects and not able to get any options. I'm running XP, by the way.

Thanks a bunch,

Tea

If you're lucky enough to be on one of those spangly new macbook (pros) - any unibody I think - then you can track a lot more than 2 fingers with this external:

Sorry for those earlier mac / PC users out there..

If only I had the money to upgrade!
