XBOX 360 Controller

Hi guys

I am working on a project for my masters involving procedural audio for weapons. I am aiming to connect a xbox 360 controller to the patch to control the weapon however, I am having a bit of a problem. I managed to speak to someone on here a month or two ago and he got me started (cant't find the conversation otherwise I would ask him specifically). Anyway, could anybody take a peek at the mapping of the controller patch and see what is up with it.

One thing to note, I am connecting the xbox 360 controller into the usb however it does not power the controller (not lights etc) does that mean it isnt working?

Do I need to change settings in max to register the usb controller?

Cheers

I think that might have been me you corresponded with - I'll have a look at the patch when I get to the office later and see what's up.

Hi Joe,

Everything works fine here - what's specifically the issue you're having? What error message (if any) do you get in the Max window?

A couple things to check:

1) Make sure the controller is plugged in before you launch the patch so [hi] can find it.
2) Do you have the Xbox 360 controller driver installed? For Mac OSX, I use this one: . I'm not a Windows user, so if you are you'll need to search accordingly.

Best,

Steven

By the way, just FYI, if you are on a Mac: I had trouble with the latest version (0.12) of the driver above (on a MacBook Pro 15" 2009, OSx 10.6.8) and just emailed the developer about it. Version 0.11 works just fine for me.

Hi Steven

I did not have the driver installed no (good shout!). I will get this installed and make sure I have the controller plugged in before opening the patch. I will let you know how I get on

Thanks steven

Hi

This might sound really daft but I downloaded the driver (0.11) but I am having trouble installing it for some reason. When I click on the folder Install360Controller and open it, I see the Install360Controller.packproj, scripts folder and text. When I click on the packproj it simply says choose application, what is the application I need?

Sorry about this

Hmmm...what system are you on? I'm on OSX 10.6.8, and what I get from the download is a .dmg with the sole contents being 'Install360Controller.pkg' which is a standard installer package: when double-clicked it brings up the installer application.

are you not supposed to plug it the USB AND to the wall ?

I am running osx 10.5.8

I will try downloading some of the other files and see if I have any luck with them

Cheers.
