I'm planning on creating a composition based on the midi values received from a performer playing the Yamaha Disklavier piano.

Anyone have any experience with working with MIDI pianos? Does it work similiar to how it would with your regular MIDI keyboards?

Will I be just be getting values from 0-127 for each key (60 being middle c?) and values from 0-127 for velocity?

I'm planning on creating a composition based on the midi values received from a performer playing the Yamaha Disklavier piano.

yes, I haven't used a MIDI piano like that but I think they work the same, i take it will have a MIDI Out on there? you will get 0-127 values for notes, velocity, and pitch bend, aftertouch etc if available. They should be the same, are you going to use MIDI In on a sound card device? Look at the midiformat object, midiin, check the MIDI tutorials. Theres only one way to find out, get stuck in!
