your own Samplers in Max

Hey all, is it possible to design a sampler in max that you can load your own samples into? Like the way you would in Logic... I'm trying to incorporate a sampler into max from a library of my own samples. I'd ideally like to be able to include a synth from logic to be playable without opening logic but I'm pretty sure that's not possible as it's not a sampler and part of their program engine..

Anyone know of any examples of this?

Hi
if you look in the Cycling74 folder under 'examples/sampling' (I'm not 100% sure of the location) there should be a pre-built demo in there; objects to look at include [buffer~] [groove~] [sfplay~] [waveform~] and [play~].
The beauty of bundled samplers, like the one you mention and others, is all the hard work is done for you, but you have to learn idiosyncratic methods; with Max, all the tools are there but you gotta do the work and think more creatively.
Search the forum for 'sampler' or 'sampling'.
I've never used Pluggo or vst plugins in Max but I believe the former is no longer supported; I guess you could use a vst sampler in MaxMSP?

yes, like Brendan said, look here in your Max folder:
Max5/examples/sampling
but then also look at the 'ModSquad' patch here:
Max5/examples/sequencing

you'll want to learn about both sampling and sequencing to make a standalone sampler.
it is very possible(i think this is the kind of thing most people do at some point with max... do a search for applicable terms here on the forums, you'll find lots here, too)
hope it helps.

vst samplers should be usable in Max 4 or 5 with vst~. you can build vst plugins with Pluggo via Max 4, but no longer with 5.
