zl object loses inlets and outlets after quitting Max and re-opening patch

Hi,
This is driving me bonkers--I hope someone can help. This just started today--been fine up 'til now: if I create a zl object, for example, "zl scramble" in a patch, it first appears normal--it has inlets/outlets, it functions, etc., but after saving the patch, quitting and re-opening it, suddenly the zl object has no inlets or outlets! In fact, if I simply make a new empty patch, plop a "zl scramble" object in there with nothing else in the patch whatsoever, the same thing happens--when i open it back up after saving and quitting/restarting Max--boom, no inlets or outlets.
A large patch I've been working on for weeks that has a few zl objects in it opens fine. But, if I "save as" that patch with a new name, again the zl objects all lose their inlets/outlets.
I've restarted my machine several times--no luck.
I'm using Max 6.1.3, on Mac OS 10.6.8

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

I don't know if it'll help, but here's said patch with nothing but a "zl scramble" in it. You'll see it has no connectivity:

Anybody have any ideas?

Your patch has ins and outs on my computer. You probably have something named zl in your max search path that is getting loaded instead of the zl objects.
