As an amateur user I have been trying to send MIDI data from the patch I am running in onto Ableton Live to use on an external plugin / instrument, albeit, "from Max 1" is not listed on Max's MIDI setup, nor when I double-click the noteout object, as has been shown on Cycling '74s tutorials.

What concerns me is that "from Max 1" and "from Max 2" is enlisted within Ableton's MIDI preferences but not Max itself? Is there any way in which this could be rectified or resolved? Thanks in advance !

Have you tried just using LoopMIDI? That's been the easier way for me to trigger my vst's in Ableton. It just works without issues, unlike Rewire which has always given me headaches for whatever reason. :D https://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html
