I thought I was being clever and created a patcher to monitor notes in a specific way (note#, name, & staff), that I'm using around a complicated ableton live set.  Turns out my patcher is stripping out Sustain, which is not what I would have expected and became really hard to track down.

The problem boils down to this snippet.  Even if all I'm doing is replicating notein to noteout, and just displaying the note#, it strips out sustain.  

Looks like I can simply disconnect the noteout and put the below in the patch and it works.  Is this the right way to do this?

Since I am a complete novice in programming, I decided to ask you for help. 

Here is a reference to the filter I would like to get.

My thoughts: most likely, this is not a Band Pass filter, but two cutoff filters with adaptive Slope (from 12 to 48 dB/Octave). Moving up sets the distance between the bands and the filter slope, while moving horizontally sets the frequency. The amplitude range on the graph is from (unknown) to ~+6 dB.

If anyone can help me with this, I would be very grateful! Thank you!

Hello, I’m looking for a synth implementation that can be controlled via Max messages—something that would let me tweak parameters, modulations, and the notes it plays based exclusively on messages sent from a sequencer. From what I’ve seen, it’s either tied to Max for Live or not quite what I’m after. 

I mean the kind of synth/module/fx/etc. with which i can do anything with messages only, without interacting with ui and anything else.

I’m currently working on controlling mini DC vibration motors (low voltage) with Arduino, using CMD SimpleMessageSystem to communicate from Max/MSP. This setup was working before, but suddenly the motors stopped responding.

I’m an artist using Arduino mainly for interactive works, so while I’ve tested the basics, I may be missing something in the software/firmware side.

Has anyone experienced issues with SimpleMessageSystem + Max patches (Arduino2Max/CMD module) where the Max terminal only shows the port number but no responses? Any guidance on whether that’s normal, or what I should check next, would be greatly appreciated.

 I'm a beginner, but for a university exam I'd like to create a patch that can capture a live scream from a person and convert it into data that can be sent to TouchDesigner. Obviously, I'd like the sound to be cleaned up so that only the scream is captured and not other sounds like voices or footsteps. I've been going crazy for days because I've watched tutorial after tutorial, but they all use audio and not an ezadc (microphone). So far, I've only managed to connect the ezadc with meter and number, but I don't know how to proceed. My instructor recommended zmap, but I have no idea how to implement a patch like this.
