I'd like to report a problem I've been having lately on dozens of different desktop/laptop with Windows 10/11 and laptop Mac Intel, with Max 8.6.5 and Max 9.1.1.

I initially thought it was due to the complexity of my patches or the size of the textures, but below is a 

 patch that shows the same error: a simple rectangle that scrolls from left to right once a second, the jit.world bang calculates its position, sync on, 60 fps.

The issue appears after a short time (usually 

, then performance returns to normal. After some time, the problem repeats.

Note that on Windows jit.fpsgui always reports a stable 60 fps, and I haven't found a way to check these dropped frames from within Max.

The only way I've found to objectively check for dropped frames is to use an HDMI to USB-C video capture card on another computer and calculate when there are duplicate frames.

Is this a known issue related to jit.world, internal scheduling, or the rendering loop?

OS-level GPU scheduling or power management?

Are there recommended flags, attributes, or diagnostics to better understand these periodic drops?

I have some custom-built externals which work perfectly fine in Max itself, but whenever I try to build a standalone with them I get "no such object" errors. I have tried including the .mxe64 files themselves and tried including the folder they're in. I've tried putting them in the main Max externals folder. I've tried building a collective instead of a standalone executable. I have verified that the .mxe64 files are actually present in the resources folder of the built standalone, but it just does not seem to matter (and I have tried manually moving them to the resources folder even though they already exist there). The strangest thing of all is that out of all the countless times I've tried to build, it actually did work maybe two or three times when I saved the patch as a project first and then built it. But I can't get that to work anymore now either. I have verified that it acts the same way on a different computer.

I feel like I've tried everything. Any ideas what could possibly be causing this?

The Rpi 4B I am using does not show in the target export window. I manually added the address of the pi, but it still shows it as not connected. Wireless connection is otherwise working on the pi.

Other things I've tried to troubleshoot this issue:

Verify connection: I verified everything is correct in setup from the tutorial. Username is pi, hostname is unchanged, updated through terminal. I can SSH into the pi from my laptop and send and receive files, etc. 

Updates and installing dependencies:  I suspect it might have something to do with the way the raspberry is configured. I ran into an error for "sudo apt-get install jack_transport_link rnbo-runner-panel," which gives the error: 

"E: Unable to locate package jack_transport_link

E: Unable to locate package rnbo-runner-panel"

I have used "sudo apt-get install" as well as "sudo apt update | sudo apt upgrade" and rebooted the pi. I'm at a loss. If anyone can tell me why the pi will not show up on the target window, that would be amazing. I have puzzled over this for several days.

The included patch, that simply use [abl.dsp.prism~]'s freeze feature, will work as expected the first time I open the patch. But when I close it and reopen it, it doesn't work anymore.

I need to restart Max9 to get it working again! And sometimes even after restarting Max  the patch doesn't work!

I tried on intel and ARM Macs, macOS13, macOS14.

The open method does not return anything in js V8.

If the db file does not exist, the error "v8jssqlite - Database file does not exist" displays in the console.

I created a step sequencer in RNBO using an Akai Fire midi controller as input device. The RNBO patch sends out the sequenced notes along with some sysex to control the LEDs of the midi controller. When I send the sysex out of max just from the bare RNBO patch, everything works great. But when I export it as a VST and load it in Reaper I can't get any sysex from the plugin.

I then dug some deeper and read in the Juice forum that sending sysex from a VST3 is broken. (in 

). They are saying that the “begin SysEx” byte (xF0) and the “end SysEx” byte (xF7) are not sent out. It is also said (as far as I understand) that sending those bytes twice might help. So I played around with that option and made a little tester patch to send sysex messages in different ways and also sending bytes one by one manually (attached patch).

The only thing I can get from the plugin this way is a sysex message that consists only of the F0 byte. Which led me to 

 reporting that sysex strings from RNBO patches on a raspberry pi can't be longer than three bytes. Not sure if it's the same issue, but looks a bit similar.

Also seems that when using the [sysexout] object even that single byte message isn't sent (in the Plugin, from the Max patch again it works).

I'm a bit at my wit's end. hope somebody can give me the right hint to solve this. Thanks!

Please help - I'm trying to extract features from the audio (amplitude, spectrum, etc.) and use those to

I've been building a poly synth that supposed to incorprate both substractive synthesis and granular synthesis. Essentialy the idea is to have two synths running in parallel and then add them together to get a combination of both. The granular "voice" is based on Oliver Thurleys granular tutorial, but I've really been struggling to make it truly polyphonic, as the poly object he uses generates the actual cloud of the grains, rather than doing what it's "supposed to" by allowing the playing of chords. If anyone has any ideas on how to solve this please let me know!

Just made this additive synth and trying to incorporate a playlist file as a placeholder for adc~ as I'm putting live optical sound through at some point so I'm just at the  test stage  but cant seem to get it working. It was working before  I tried including a sound input so I'm obvs doing something wrong with the receive~ send~ objects.
