I just installed the Max 8.6.0 upgrade + RNBO, from Max 7, and I have this issue at startup. Even before Max window showing, I get this error message more than once:

Thank you for the report and apologies for the inconvenience. 

It appears that node v20 requires Mac OS X 10.15 or higher. We will investigate and may need to change our minimum required Mac OS version to 10.15.

In the meantime, you'll need to downgrade to Max 8.5.7, or update to Mac OS 10.15 or higher. 

I got the same error message for which I already put in a support request.

Max 8.6 runs but I get the node error on startup.

Yeah... That's the OS issue. I downgraded it to 8.5.7 like Joshua advised and it's now working fine.

for those wanting max 8.6 on older system, replace node package from 8.5.7.
