So, I built this M4L device. It works great in Max MSP standalone but 

doesn't output audio when running inside Ableton Live

*It does output audio to live when I open it in edit mode. Never happened to me, so weird.

i've been working on waveguides for a little while, and i've been curious of creating a model that could produce an oscillation without using a "long" delay line , but only 1 samples feedback loops.

i realized that in some situation, manipulating the gain of a really short delay line could produce low oscillations. i am surprised by that and i don't understand how it's possible. i have a here an example of an oscillator that is almost in tune, that can create almost any frequency without the use of a "long" delay line, or a wavetable, or a sine/cosine object.

it seems like this system is a self-sustained oscillator, as it produces a periodic oscillation without any periodic input. through trial an errors, i found the formulas in order to tune the oscillator and define its frequency properly, and also to adjust the output's amplitude accordingly.  

does anybody know if this oscillator could be useful ? i wonder how this is even possible. at least, adding some fm modulation and self modulation can create interesting chaotic sounds, that are a bit different from the sounds achieved with more traditional, parametric oscillators.

I thought I would post a patch here in the spirt of sharing, see if anyone may have a use or may find it useful for writing tracks.

It is a 32 step midi multi instrument sequencer. Each step has an assignable midi note, using gate logic each step can trigger multiple instruments x3 on the same step. 

I have built in a mute line youll need to patch msp instruments into so if you scroll between programmed sequencers using preset/ pattrstorage avoids audio spikes. 

receive objects are sitting out side the sequencer (keep the names the same or sequencer will not retrigger) receive objects will receive midi notes to each instrument assigned from the sequencer. 

Sharing because I have used alot of code from forums and online to learn happy to gove back.

I've been debugging some stability issues on a recent interactive max installation, and I came across a bunch of posts where people were troubleshooting stability issues and c74 staff suggested  disabling RNBO server on startup  (on windows computers).. 

Is there some documentation that explains which versions of max/rnbo/windows this affects?

I have a strange problem since today with max msp (v 9.0.7).

No sounds outing on my computer's speakers  (macbook air M2 OS 14.6.1). I have a signal on vu metrers on patches or in max audio settings part, but no sounds on speakers

BUT, how it strange it's because, sounds working on headphones, sound card or with Loopback (to routing on Ableton Live or other). 

I haven't changed any settings or setup, it's just happened from nowhere.

Someone have an idea to resolve it please ?
