Aalto plugin in Max 8

Hello folks! I cross-asked this question in the Madrona Labs Forum and lines. My goal is to get the Aalto plugin in meadowphysics in monome in Max 8 (in Win10) to run. I installed the plugin, but when I select it Max Console says:

vst~ can't find plug-in Aalto

I copied the Aalto.dll (the 64bit version) into C:\Program Files\Cycling '74\Max 8\resources\support; then I can start the plugin by clicking on the circle button, but as soon as I click the volume button, Max Console says:

ad_mme: stopping due to error.

I read that installing VS2015 helps; that's what I tried; w/o success. Then I set the registry value for VSTPluginsPath in HKLM/Software/VST to point at the original *.dll path of the plugins (C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST2) - the error stays the same:

vst~ can't find plug-in Aalto

Can you please elaborate on this. Thanks in advance!

use ad_directsound instead of mme which is anyway not playing well with max. or asio or watever. Plugin can be loaded form any location on the HD using plug message to vst object.
