My goal is to get the Aalto plugin in meadowphysics in monome in Max 8 (in Win10) to run. 

I installed the plugin, but when I select it Max Console says:

I copied the Aalto.dll (the 64bit version) into C:\Program Files\Cycling '74\Max 8\resources\support; then I can start the plugin by clicking on the circle button, but as soon as I click the volume button, Max Console says:

I read that installing VS2015 helps; that's what I tried; w/o success.

Then I set the registry value for VSTPluginsPath in HKLM/Software/VST to point at the original *.dll path of the plugins (C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST2) - the error stays the same:
