Allen & Heath SQ Series Audio Driver Compatibility
Hi, I'm trying to use an Allen & Heath SQ-5 as an audio interface with Max and I'm running into an audio driver error. First, the SQ-5 works as an 32x32 audio interface with system audio, Reaper, Logic, and a every other program I've tried. However, while Max lets me select the SQ-5 (using Core Audio), it refuses to interact with any inputs or outputs. When I select ad_portaudio Core Audio, I can use the outputs but the inputs are still ignored.
This appears to be a Max-only problem. Any ideas?
Hi Realshafer, did you solve this issue? I experience the same problem with an SQ-6 (MacOS10.14.4/Max8.0.5). Audio does not start at all. Since I remember having worked with the mixer before, I just download Max7 (latest version) and that indeed does work. I suppose that it worked with earlier versions of Max8 as well, but somehow not with the current one.
Hi JVKR, thanks for your reply. I've still not resolved it. I'm working with (MacOS 10.13.6 / Max 8.0.4) Hopefully someone at Cycling will take this issue up. It's interesting that it worked with previous versions of Max.
In the meantime I have reported this as a problem, the team is aware of it.
