Alternative for Jit.playlist

Hi I'm currently working with a midi controller that uses the keys to select a file in the jit.playlist and I do this via this.

But this is glitchy. Sometimes it doesn't open files or at least according to the number and just picks another file or even just skips a file and goes to the next in the directory.

As such, any other ways of approaching videofiles from a directory?
