ambisonic reverb in Max using mc.vst~

[SOLVED... more or less]

So it seems that the issue was with mc. If i use [mc.unpack 16]
|
[vst 16 16 FDNReverb]
|
[mc.pack 16]
everything seems to work as expected.

Am I perhaps missing something where I need to explicitly tell mc.vst how many channels to expect? I didn't see anything like that in the help file, but I'm not so experienced with mc yet...

HI all,

I'm trying to use IEM's FDN Reverb vst to process a 3rd order ambisonic file which I'm playing using mc.playlist~ and decoding using the ICST mc.ambidecode~ object. When I enable the plugin, the sound comes back very sparse and choppy; it sounds almost exactly like when I tried to play a 96 kHz ambi file while the system was set at 48 kHz.

If I send "bypass 1" message to the mc.vst~ object, everything plays back fine, so I'm sure the rest of the signal chain is ok... Also, when I feed the vst with a stereo signal, like in the tutorial patch, it works as expected.

I've used this plugin with ambisonic signals in Reaper before without any problems, but this is my first attempt using any VST in max. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions with this problem?

Thanks!
