An electronic sound based on Spectral Filter Bank
Dear All,
I have been benefited from this forum for a long time! would like to first thank you guys who provided this group with generous support. As I am pretty new to Max, I always try to do self-study on my own and to recreate the electronic effect I heard from different sources.
But there is a sound that really haunted me and I couldn't find a good way to rebuild it on my own. So if this is possible I would like to ask everyone who might have experiences in it.
This is the piece called "Hearing Landscapes" by Greg Surges and Lei Liang: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_lAqfPCHLo
I tried to rebuild the vocoder on Max to try to imitate the effect at about 1:30-1:40 of the above link, but it doesn't work out pretty well. It seems to me that this piece is mostly based on the control of the filterbank of the original sample. I was wondering if someone could share any ideas about this electronic technique? I really appreciate any suggestions from you. Thank you!
