im trying to build a jit.expr curve that responds to sound by stretching out single 'filaments'.

ive crudely pieced some bits from the forum together (for lack of skill) to try things out, and inserted "$f1" into the expr at different points - which at least affects it somehow, but it still stays static.

no idea if jit.gl.sketch might be a better idea, but if there would be a way for jit.expr, wouldnt that be nicer?

appreciate any idea or hint on where or what to look for x

[expr] and [jit.expr] are very different.

• Use in[#] instead of $f# (ex. in[0] instead of $f1)

• Address individual planes with: in[#].p[#] (ex. in[0].p[2] )

• Use the @inputs attribute to define the number of inputs (example @inputs 4 )

 within the expression. Everything after the attributes and before the first space (of the expression) refers to plane 1, between the first and second space of the expression is plane 2, etc . That's why quotes are used (they negate the spaces they enclose). However your expression could also be written without quotes so long as you remove the spaces inside them. I'm not suggesting you get rid of the quotes. Just clarifying how the object maps arguments. I find the quotes distracting, but other people find the spaces hard to see.

took me a while to figure out how to stitch it into my patch in a way to actually see it effecting the shape, will post you a patch as soon as im a bit further into it
