APC40 instant mapping for M4L devices
I'm using an APC40 mk2 and I want to edit my M4L device so that the instant mapping works as nicely as for other Live devices.
Usually when I select any instrument or effect in Live, the APC's 8 device control knobs are mapped to the device's parameters in a somewhat comprehensible way. If it has more than 8 parameters I can switch through banks on the APC to control up to 8 parameters per bank. When I switch banks Live's status bar tells me what's in the bank, for example "Analog Bank: Oscillators" or "Analog Bank: Filters".
I want to get the same behaviour for my M4L devices. Apparently the long name of an object has something to do with the order of instantly mapped knobs, however it seems it's not just about alphabetical order, but some greater concept that I am yet to figure out...
So how can I set the order of knobs for instant mapping? Also, is there a way to name the banks?
Thanks!
You'll want to look at the automapping index attribute in the inspector.
I don't think you can name banks though. They will just appear as bank 1, bank 2, etc.
That helped, thanks!
