Apple Magic-Trackpad_2 / ignore external trackpad

Hello,
I like to use an external Magic-Trackpad_2 to control MAX/MSP.
So I am searching for a way that macOS Sierra (10.12.6) is not reacting to the external Magic Trackpad.
I found the command in System Preferences : „ignore built-in trackpad when mouse or wireless trackpad is present“
This works perfectly for the inside Trackpad.
But it is not working for external (wireless / USB connected) Trackpads.

Any hints?

Thanks for your time,
Boris

Sorry, I'm confused. Do you want to ignore the built-in trackpad or the external trackpad? If it's the external, can you just unplug it?

Hi,
Sorry to confuse you.
The MAC OS should ignore the external Trackpad. But MAX/MSP should communicate with it.
Any thoughts?

Not sure that's possible. You can use the [hi] object to focus on the external trackpad in Max, but I don't know how to isolate it from the OS since it's communication is handled by the OS.
