Bar Counter in M4L
Hi, I have been producing and performing live PA lately and was wondering if in M4L it would be possible to create a device that would look at what ever the tempo is set to in Live and then be able to have a bar counter for a selected number of bars (ie 4,8,16) so that I can have a visual reference for changes in my music. Seems relatively simple, I just haven't designed anything in M4L and want to make sure it's possible.
Thanks for any help!
Sure! Check out the [plugsync˜] object. Its second outlet is the current bar count. My Position M4L device shows how you can use that object, albeit in a different way:
Good luck and have fun!

Hi,
N strickland, I am looking for a counter that does exactly what you described. I was wondering if you managed to create a m4l device to do that ?
I'll try to make something anyway based on the advice of HZ37. With a little luck and effort maybe I'll be able to share it with the community.
I made this thing a while ago, maybe it helps:
