I've been curious about rotary encoders being able to change float values by any specific increment either way indefinitely? Specifically lets say like, i want to control a float from 0-300 in 0.5 increments - is this possible? Then the gear specific question of if the Beatstep Pro's knobs are able to do this?

I use the smaller brother Beatstep, but it should be similar to the pro version.

Yes, you can increment any value with the help of max. Depending on your settings (relative 1, 2 or 3), the Beatstep sends out a specific value by turning the encoder, 1 or 127, 63 or 65. You have to try, the manual is not very helpful here.

Then just take a select object in max to do whatever you like.
