coming out of a show working with the playback of 18channel audio files I was wondering how to improve on my patch. Right now I am loading 6 multichannel wav files into seperate mc.playlist objects. Each one around 2-4 minutes in length. I only require to play back two at a time (current and upcoming for fading purposes).

The files are not exceedingly huge but still it seems that having all wav files in the buffer simultaneously is not the best idea, doing anything else during playback can lead to random halting of the files. I want to improve my patch since I am working on a bilingual version, effectively duplicating the number of open files. I used mc.playlist for ease of use but I am curious: 

What kind of management of files would you suggest to optimize performance? Is MSP already handling everything best in the back or does it make sense to use two buffers alternating? Any other mc. tips I didn't consider yet? I attached part of my patch, I would be thankful for any pointers and experiences.
