Buchla like timbre wavefolder
Hi Guys,
Just played with the Aalto VST demo, and I'm wondering that is it possible to achive something like the Timbre section of this VST. Very similar (modelled after) what you can find in Buchla devices.
yeah, I'm fairly certain there are some like that in that big stkr gen distortion bundle.
What is this "big stkr gen distortion" of which you speak. Sounds like it could be interesting.
It is!
Is there a "non-gen" version of the Trond Lossius shaper? (rSin?)
Here's a back of the envelope gen~ folder. It's not rocket surgery....
A treasure trove, nothing less.
ooh. Sounds grand, actually.
Thats awesome!
note that the timbre amount is locked to 0.-1., but does some fun triangular shaping, if you throw it into the negatives, and goes amusingly overboard from 1.-5. :)
I thought I could contribute by sharing the link to this perfect virtual analog wavefolder patch written in gen~. It is definitely the most buchla-like wavefolder I heard in max yet, plus it does some effective anti-aliasing.

This wavefolder sounds really sweet. Here is another link to the patch and the Matlab code: http://research.spa.aalto.fi/publications/papers/smc17-wavefolder/
Just saw this ! Contains a gen~ implementation of a Virtual Analog Buchla 259 Wavefolder and a link to the paper.
