buffer~ : load a sample from a specific path ?

Hi everyone, here's a simple question, and It may be more a Live issue than a Max issue... anyway, here it is :

I use the "replace" message to the "buffer~" object , and it seem I can only load audio files that are in the built-in contents...
I specified a folder in the file preferences, but I still can't call my audio file.

Can somebody tell me where to place those wav files and how to place them in the buffer ?

thanks in advance !

Hi, so far, I found that at least, if I add a sample to my collection, I can call it by its only file name.
So it's not that bad.

But here's another yet related problem :

If I put an empty  [replace] so users can manually browse and add a file, how can I get the same loaded buffer next time I open the session ?

Check the preferences menu - one menu lets you add folders into the search path - add the location of your samples to this, and then when you refer to them by name alone, they will be found. If you want a sample to stay there for next time you open the patch, you can load it, then hit the freeze icon in the inspector (the little blue snowflake-thing at the bottom). Alternately, you can add the name as an argument straight into the buffer.

Yeah thanks !

The "file preference" item in the "Options" menu had the add path feature ! that works real fine

But the when I freeze the patch and then save and go back to Live, suddenly the buffer is empty...
Would there be a way to store the filename into a parameter, so Live could save it ?

Hi NICKLAUS ROHRBACH!
Did you find a solution to this problem?
I have the same situation :/
