Building a audio trigger for midi notes

Still a bit of newbie on max 8

I'm looking to build a max for live patch that let me use audio input (ideally with frequency band control and threshold velocity trigger) to output a midi note (c3)

Basically, a very stripped back for drum trigger I can use in Ableton live for additional layering

Any documentation, example patches or help is appreciated
