I'm looking to sync Reason to my master Cubase session, but I can't use Rewire due to its limitations. Since Reason is only able to receive MIDI beat clock, the Apple IAC bus results in drift and jitter. My music has lots of changing tempos, so I need a better solution.

Hardware devices like the Expert Sleepers "USAMO" and Innerclock Systems "Sync-Gen II" seem to get around this by converting the MIDI clock to audio. The hardware then receives this audio and converts it back to MIDI as a sample accurate clock.

Is it possible to build a Max patch that functions like one of these hardware devices?
