Hi all,
we created a patch for a concatenative synth called Cocoon, using SP-Tools and FluCoMa as a university project. Let us know what you think!

Cocoon is a corpus-based audio mosiacing patch based on concatenative synthesis. As SP-Tools creator Rodrigo Costanzo accurately defines it: "concatenative synthesis is a technique for synthesizing sounds by concatenating short samples of recorded sound. It is essentially a type of granular synthesis that, instead of playing back grains based on position/windows, plays back grains based on analysis of incoming audio. In order to do this you must have a corpus (the pre-analyzed body of sounds) and an input sound source (either incoming audio or file playback)" (Costanzo, R. 2012)

You can choose between audio file inputs, direct mic, and a pitch follower/resynthesis as the audio source. The interface allows you to easily upload and create your own corpus from an audio file. It includes playback controls for the grains (rate, size, speed, width) and three LFO's to modulate the playback parameters.

This patch needs SP-Tools and FluCoMa and Sigmund in order to run.
