How can I concatenate messages that may contain spaces without adding separating spaces? Here is an example.

Required output message: C:\\Folder Name\\Snapshot Name.maxsnap

Input message 1: C:\\Folder Name
Input message 2: \\
Input message 3: Snapshot Name
Input message 4: .maxsnap
Required output message: C:\\Folder Name\\Snapshot Name.maxsnap

That works, thanks. For anyone else trying to do something similar, there were a couple of other things I had to get right before sprintf would work.

An input message that contains spaces has to be enclosed in double-quotes. Otherwise only the first word of the input message is included in the output.

And \\ , as in messages 1 and 2 of the my example above, is omitted. My workaround is to use // instead. In Max, // works as an alternative directory separator for Windows file paths, which is what I am trying to generate in this case.

Here's my working code (sorry, I cannot see how to include it in the form that allows a patcher to be created from the clipboard):
