Control Ableton Live (e.g. Tempo) with M4L Device

Hello,

I used the "Max Midi Effect" template in Ableton Live 11 to build a M4L effect that outputs pitchbend levels from 0 - 127 (the original data comes from a sensor on an arduino). Controlling the pitchbend of a VST instrument on the same midi track works. However, I also want to control Lives tempo and other tracks with this M4L device. I couldn't figure out how to midi map this in Ableton. How to do this?

Thank you very much for any help!

My M4L Midi Effect Device that outputs pitchbend values from 0 - 127

I believe this will do what you are asking. One side allows you to set Live's tempo. The other reports the current tempo.

Max Patch
Copy patch and select New From Clipboard in Max.

Hope it helps,

Thank you a lot for this patch, Mitch! So there's no way to map my pitch-bend midi to other tracks/devices/buttons in Live directly?
