Control chain Selector by external MIDI Program Change

Hi,
I'm trying to control the chain selector in an instrument rack by means of an external Program Change command sent from a connected controller (Keith McMillan 12 Step foot pedal).

I've been able to parse the MIDI from the external controller in a Patcher and now have the Program Change numbers correctly showing in a message box when making patch changes on the external controller, but after many hours of tutorials and attempts with live.path and live.object, still can't understand how to write this to control the chain selector in the Instrument Rack.

Would be amazing if anyone is able to help on this!

BTW just installed Live 11 last week and this is my first post as a novice Max user and I'm glad to be part of the community!

Thanks,
Len

hi and welcome!
i searched "chain selector" in this forum and there are a number of threads where you should find the answer.
for example this one:

Heads up that the chain is parameter 17 in live 11. It was parameter 9 in earlier versions

Thank you, that's a huge piece of info! No wonder parameter 9 was not talking. May I ask if here is a reference list that shows the revised parameters for Live 11?

Usually I use the devise "where am I" from maxforlive.com to know the parameter number of anything in Live. Very useful device..

Just tried it, totally helpful, thanks!

Thanks for that hint with the change from 9 to 17. I did not see it in the release notes or anywhere else. Gotta love those breaking API changes....
