I've been trying to figure this for about an hour and I haven't gotten it yet. The number is set to min 0 max 48. I want to use the function object to have the number box be at 48 at the peak of the envelope and then ramp down to 0.

Object line~ outputs a signal (-1.0 to 1.0 I think), cycle~ receives a frequency number in the left inlet and also outputs signal, midin outputs raw MIDI (which can't be simply added with a signal, I would guess).

I guess the main problem is that last one, trying to add MIDI data with signal, probably does nothing.

the number box has nothing to do there, it does not even work to track what is going on, because it does not understand "list in line format".

to reverse the direction of the signal range you can use scale 0. 1. 48. 0.

though it would more effective to to [*~ -1] - [+~ 48] to the output of the [scale] of the left [line~].

well... actually i would probably replace the [scale] with [*~ 48]
