same question, but the forum has changed so much, the answer is no longer the second sticky...

go to File and choose "New from Clipboard";

alternatively, just Paste in an existing patch.

The instructions are actually embedded in the grey Pasted Max Patch button. If you click the grey button to expand the embedded text you will see a black button that you click to copy the code to your system clipboard. In Max you just select “New from Clipboard“ under the File menu and the patch code will magically appear.
