Converting Real-Time Audio Into Frequency

John Liu's icon

Hi guys, I'm new to Max8. My plan is to trigger images by difference of musical notes (e.g. a C3 will trigger a certain image and a D4 will trigger another). Therefore, I will first need to convert the audio that is coming from the computer mic to a value (i.e. it's frequency). I have been searching for answers in this forum and I found that mostly people suggested to use retune~ / fzero~ / fiddle~ / sigmund~ etc. However, I can't really find a way to make them working. Anyone can help? Appreciate!

Thanks guys! The tutorial really helps a lot, and the patch does inspired me. Actually, I found out fzero and it actually quite useful.
