ctlin ctlout between Max4Live and my POD X3 Live
I'm trying to create a small UI to control patches (tones) on my POD X3 Live. It hasn't received any driver updates for macOS since forever. I have the MIDI reference guide and connect via MIDI and my audio interface.
It works in both directions, but only separately: sending CC to the POD and receiving CC from the POD.
Here is an example:

How would you connect this bi-directionally? Thus receiving CC from the POD X3 when turning the knob and sending CC to the same controller from Max? When I connect the output of ctlin into the live.dial I get something like an endless loop and the control is just stuttering back and forth.
Within Ableton it set the MIDI channel identical (MIDI from and MIDI to), to allow the communication.
I was able to resolve my issue by using a "set" connection. The main solution was ensuring that the MIDI in and MIDI out are different on that track. In my case, I send the MIDI out from the POD on Channel 1 and set its receive channel to OMNI. Now I can play around with the Max MIDI track
