deltaclip~ bug?

Hi everybody,

I was about to write about some very strange behavior of deltaclip~ , when I saw this thread:

This post is almost 10 years old (!) so I guess it is not a bug... but I still don't understand it. Try opening the deltaclip~ help patcher. Start DSP, click on the toggle. The signal slopes to 1. Then try to decrease the value in the float box over middle inlet.

1) The signal value drops unexpectecly: why?

Then, try increasing the value in the second float box, over the third inlet of the object.
The value slopes back to 1 as expected .

Then, try moving back this second float box value to 1. (default - gets multiplied by 0.00001). Nothing happens, as expected . But all arguments being the same, the result is different from the beginning of our "experiment".
Try then to change the input signal to -1.
The output signal from deltaclip~ slopes to 0. and from then on it is impossible to get deltaclip~ to output any negative signal value.
I'm really confused...

Any clues?
